December- No play in class

Holling acts in a play of his own

Main Plot- Holling must wear yellow tights with the white feathers on the butt as Ariel the fairy. Mickey Mantle will come to Baker Sporting goods emporium (the boys are very excited to meet their hero). A nice bus driver gives Holling ride and a baseball to be signed after the play when his parents fail to pick him up. Mickey Mantle acts like a jerk & refuses to sign Holling's baseball. Danny gives back his baseball. "Their Gods died". Mrs. Baker arranged for Joe Pepitone and Horace Clarke to visit Danny, Doug and Holling.   
Holling is?Ariel- in a performance onstage that moves many people to tears, Holling shines as Ariel the fairy, even with the yellow tights with the white feathers on the butt.

What does he learn? Its not always good to meet your heroes, they could just end up disapointing you. Your "Gods" die.
