January- The Tragedy of Macbeth

Characters of Macbeth- Macbeth- Title character, becomes obsessed with gaining the throne of Scotland. Macduff- family murdered by Macbeth. Malcom- former King's son.

Main Plot- Doug Swietick's brother puts up pictures of Holling as Ariel all over the school. Everyone takes the standardized tests (despite the huge snowstorm). Holling hits Doug Swietick's brother on the head with a snowball & gets his revenge for the Ariel incident. The school penitentiary bound 8th graders are about to beat him up when he rushes into the road to save his sister from getting hit by a bus and saves her life. Misses Baker takes him to the hospital, and his parents don't come. He gets in the paper because of it. These pictures go up in the school instead of the Ariel photos.

Holling is? Macduff-he feels like a hero & it seems like everyone is happy to see him, like when Macduff walks in with Macbeth's head. Malcom (King's son) because he has no need for revenge anymore (pg. 128-129) Macbeth resembles Holling's father.

What does he learn? Holling learns to not always be so worried about what people think. That sometimes you end up being embarrassed but sometimes your efforts are rewarded.
